A native of Hitchcock, Texas, Dr. Schanzer, her husband Tom, and their seven adopted children moved to Memphis in December 1989, and she has been the Medical Director of the center since it began in early 1990. She has been performing PRK and LASIK since 1996. Dr. Schanzer has performed thousands of LASIK and cataract procedures and was the first in the area to perform SLT laser procedures for glaucoma and the new CK procedure for restoring reading vision.
