After completing his residency in ophthalmology and his fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery, Dr. David Irvine was Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He has also been a Clinical Instructor at University of Tennessee. He joined Southern Eye Associates as an Associate Ophthalmologist specializing in retinal surgery. During his career, he has published several articles and given numerous presentations in the field of ophthalmology.
